Permalukan Lazio, Juve Kembali Berkuasa

Juventus berhasil kembali ke puncak klasemen Serie A setelah gol tunggal Simone Pepe menghantarkan mereka mempermalukan tuan rumah Lazio 1-0 di Stadion Olimpico, Sabtu (26/11).

Tambahan tiga angka ini membuat Juve mengusur Udinese yang sempat berkuasa sehari. Dengan mengemas 25 angka, Juve unggul satu poin dari Udinese dan dua angka dari Lazio.

Pertandingan berlangsung menarik sejak awal karena kedua tim sama-sama bermain cepat dan terbuka. Juve mendapat peluang emas pertama di laga ini di menit ke-10 saat sundulan gelandang Claudio Marchisio masih melambung.

Sebuah tendangan bebas Andrea Pirlo pada menit 16 memaksa penjaga gawang Lazio Federico Marchetti jatuh bangun menyelamatkan gawangnya. Beruntung bagi Lazio karena bola muntah yang disambar Stephan Liechtsteiner masih melebar.

Tiga menit kemudian, gantian Lazio yang mengancam lewat penyerang gaek Tommaso Rocchi yang masih bisa digagalkan kiper Juve Gianluigi Buffon. Di pertengahan babak pertama tendangan jarak jauh yang dilepaskan gelandang Lazio Hernanes juga dengan mudah dapat diamankan Buffon.

Lazio seharusnya bisa memimpin di menit 33 ketika Rocchi lepas dari jebakan off-side, sayangnya Buffon dengan gemilang bisa menepis tembakan eks pemain Empoli itu.

Kegagalan ini harus dibayar mahal karena semenit kemudian serangan balik Juve membuahkan gol pembuka saat umpan tarik Alessandro Matri dengan mudah dicocor Pepe yang berdiri tanpa kawalan.

Selang beberapa menit kemudian Pepe hampir menggandakan keunggulan Juve saat lepas dari jebakan off-side, tapi Marchetti dengan cepat keluar dari sarangnya guna menghalau bola.

Lazio mencoba meningkatkan frekuensi serangannya setelah turun minum. Papan skor seharusnya berimbang saat laga berjalan sejam ketika tendangan keras kaki kiri Hernanes cuma mengenai tiang gawang Juve.

Semenit kemudian peluang emas kembali menghampiri Lazio, kali ini tendangan melengkung Miroslav Klose dengan cekatan mampu ditepis Buffon.

Pemain pengganti Emmanuele Giaccherini nyaris menambah keunggulan Juve pada menit 72 saat tendangannya dari jarak dekat bisa dihalau oleh Marchetti. Sedangkan tendangan voli Matri cuma mengenai tiang gawang.

Lazio berpeluang menyamakan skor tiga menit sebelum bubaran saat tandukan pemain pengganti Djibril Cisse masih bisa diselamatkan Buffon.

Reja rage: 'Penalty and red card'

Edy Reja raged at the referee after Lazio’s defeat to Juventus. “There was a clear penalty and Andrea Barzagli should’ve been sent off.”

The incident occurred in the first half, when Tommaso Rocchi’s chip over a beaten Gigi Buffon took a deflection off Barzagli’s hand to go off target.

“We were unlucky with the incidents, as there was a clear penalty on Rocchi’s shot and Barzagli should’ve been sent off,” said the Coach of the 1-0 result.

“Had that been spotted, it was a spot-kick and a straight red card, in my view. Unfortunately, it proved to be decisive. Maybe the referee just didn’t see it, but his decision was very disappointing.”

Simone Pepe snatched the only goal of the game on a classic counter-attack in this top of the table clash.

“We are satisfied with the performance and do not come out of this with our reputation damaged, because we fought on equal terms with Juve.

“It’s true we should have done something more, as we had the chances. It’s a shame we were too tired at the end to really mount an assault for the equaliser.

“Juventus played well and I think it can be their year, also considering they have no European commitments to worry about. We proved tonight that we deserve to be in the top spots and could even have won.”

Giornata 13 : Lazio 0 - 1 Juventus

Simone Pepe gave Juventus a victory at the Olimpico that tastes of Scudetto ambitions, though Gigi Buffon and the woodwork denied Lazio.

These teams were joint top going into this weekend, so it was a huge test of their Scudetto potential. Andrea Pirlo passed a last-minute fitness test to start despite a knock to the knee, while it was like a derby for ex-Roma star Mirko Vucinic. Lazio missed Stefano Mauri, Libor Kozak, Andre Dias and Francelino Matuzalem, while Juve youth product Tommaso Rocchi pushed Djibril Cissè on to the bench.

The Bianconeri’s last defeat at the Olimpico was in 2003 and some fans thought they had scored after 10 minutes when Claudio Marchisio got in front of his market and Federico Marchetti to meet Stephan Lichtsteiner’s cross, but the header skimmed the bar to land on the roof of the net.

Alessandro Matri was pulling the trigger on another Lichtsteiner assist before Mobido Diakite’s crucial sliding tackle.

Pirlo took Marchetti by surprise with a free kick that swerved viciously in the air, but the goalkeeper managed to change direction to palm it off the line and Giorgio Chiellini fired the follow-up wide from close range.

Lazio also threatened, as Rocchi got in front of Leonardo Bonucci and chipped the on-rushing Gigi Buffon to force a corner. Replays show the ball struck Andrea Barzagli’s hand, but it seemed to be involuntary. From that corner, Cristian Ledesma’s screamer sailed over the bar.

Simone Pepe, in the pink away shirt, shook off a defender to curl over and Buffon smothered a Hernanes daisy-cutter.

Hernanes threaded through to release Rocchi and Buffon desperately charged it down with his legs. In the same move, Juventus went on the counter-attack with Matri, who rolled across from the left for the unmarked Pepe’s daisy-cutter finish.

Cristian Brocchi picked up a knock in the first half and made way for Gonzalez. The substitute created a good chance by pulling back for Hernanes, but former teammate Lichtsteiner’s sliding tackle was decisive, as Lazio came out fighting for the second period.

Chiellini needed a desperate challenge to stop Klose in the box and Lazio went even closer on 59 minutes when Hernanes’ snapshot from the edge of the area cracked against the base of the near post.

The pressure was all Lazio, as Marchisio’s yellow card rules him out of the next game with Napoli and Buffon flew to palm away a right-foot Klose curler.

Emanuele Giaccherini’s introduction seemed to restore balance and Juventus nearly made it 2-0, as the substitute spun round in the area to force a sensational one-handed save from Marchetti.

Lazio had a good opportunity wasted by Giuseppe Sculli’s misplaced pass, but Matri ran on to an Arturo Vidal through ball for an angled drive that clipped the edge of the far post.

Siapa itu S.S. Lazio?

S.S. Lazio (Società Sportiva Lazio SpA) adalah sebuah tim sepak bola Italia yang berbasis di kota Roma, didirikan pada 9 Januari 1900. Lazio telah menjuarai Serie A sebanyak dua kali, menjuarai Coppa Italia lima kali, Piala Super Italia tiga kali, serta masing-masing sekali menjuarai Piala Winners dan Piala Super Eropa.

Kostum utama Lazio berwarna biru langit untuk kaos dan berwarna putih untuk celana dan kaos kaki. Stadion kandang mereka, Stadion Olimpico di Roma berkapasitas 72,698 tempat duduk, Selain itu Lazio memiliki rival sekota, yaitu A.S. Roma. Lazio dengan A.S. Roma telah bersaing untuk waktu yang lama, mereka menjalankan pertandingan sepak bola yang dikenal sebagai Derby della Capitale (Derby Kota Roma) sejak tahun 1929.

Selain itu Lazio adalah sebuah klub olah raga yang berpartisipasi dalam tiga puluh tujuh cabang olah raga, sehingga merupakan klub olah raga yang membawahi cabang olah raga terbanyak di seluruh Eropa.

Awalnya didirikan sebagai klub atletik, seksi sepak bola dibentuk pada tahun 1902. Hingga saat ini klub Lazio membawahi berbagai cabang olah raga, antara lain baseball, kriket, dan rugby.
